Shipwreck Stew


2 tbsp. of fat

1 lb. of ground beef

3/4 cup of sliced onion

1/4 cup of raw rice

1 cup of water

3 cups of cubed potatoes

1 can of diced carrots or other vegetables

1 tsp. of salt, dash or pepper

*Melt the fat in a heavy skillet. Arrange a layer of beef, onion, rice, potatoes and vegetables in the skillet. Add salt, pepper and water. Cover pan and cook slowly on stovetop for 1-hour. Can be cooked in a slow cooker too.
