What is the Small Farms Program?
The goal is to help Minnesota’s small farm owners succeed as stewards of the land.

Join in for a field day on Wednesday, July 18th at Kleinschmidt Farms, owned and operated by Russell and Jess Kleinschmidt. A tour and program will take place from 2-4pm, with a question and answer session from 4-5pm.

Kleinschmidt Farms produces over 60 varieties of vegetables in outdoor gardens and their high-tunnel. Additionally, they have a grass-fed beef herd and a pasture broiler and egg-laying operation.

Kleinschmidt Farms uses a variety of intensive techniques to maximize production on their farm while still making sustainability a priority.

Join to learn more about Kleinschmidt Farms and their intensive operation, including seeing their high tunnel and livestock operation. Also, hear from the University of Minnesota Extension Educators about different issues facing small farms.

Cost of the event is free and refreshments will be provided.
