The new quilt exhibit, “Granite City Rocks” showcases the work of the St. Cloud Heritage Quilters at the Stearns History Museum.
The 24×24 inch quilts were designed by members as part of a recent group challenge. Each participant randomly chose one of two fabrics that resemble granite quarried from the St. Cloud area: Cold Spring Black and Cold Spring Charcoal Black. The “granite” fabric had to be used for the binding and at least one square inch had to be used within the quilts. The fabric could not be changed or covered up by dyes, paint or stitching.
The exhibit runs through September 30, 2017 during business hours.
