Max O’Neil was born on February 21st, 2013 to Lori and Tim O’Neil. Although Max was born with a heart defect known as HLHS, he was a fighter. He had as many open heart surgeries as he was old, averaging one per year. Max loved going to the rodeo, and watching bull riding while eating donuts. He was almost always proudly wearing his cowboy boots, often being called, “Cowboy Max” by family and friends. Max’s second love was baseball, watching the Minnesota Twins and wanting to play for the Paynesville Bulldogs one day. Thanks to Make A Wish, Max was able to spend a day with the Minnesota Twins, be in the team locker room, and be bat boy for the day. In July, Max suffered complications of a heart transplant at the UofM Masonic Children’s Hospital and sadly passed away on July 18, 2018 at the age of 5.
From the family: “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this special day with us!!!”
