Fill quart jars with apple slices.
Combine:
- 4 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of corn starch
- 2 tsp. of cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. of nutmeg
- 1 tsp. of salt
- 10 cups of water
Cook until bubbly and add 3 tbsp. of lemon juice. Pour over apples and boil 20 minutes in water.
Makes about 10 quarts.
